When I became a mother, probably much like alot of you reading this, I made up in my mind that nothing on earth could be more important than protecting my little one. Those tiny hands, those wrinkled feet, that precious smile, all so very delicate. My mind wandered all over the place. We put up all the baby gates, baby-proofed all of the drawers and sharp corners. We thinly sliced everything before consumption, and bolted all large furniture down with screws. Somehow, we still didn’t feel that we were doing everything we could to maximize baby’s health. One day, while doing a bit of reading in the Bible, it hit us! Fabrics matter! We began to become very intentional about blankets and clothing, preferring linens and organic cotton as noted in the scriptures. Finding this information in the Bible led to further research into the fabrics, this is when we discovered just how harsh the others can be! Chemically processed and produced, unethically derived and just outright nasty to the planet. We knew we’d made the best choice to opt for the sustainable brands moving forward. After all, your child will spend several hours each day, several days each week, several weeks each month, many months out of the year wearing the clothing you purchase.
